7-year-old applies for a job at Google, receives a priceless response

Chloe Bridgewater is a seven-year-old with rather different aspirations. Her dream is to work at Google! Young Chloe was self-motivated to write a letter to Google, stating her intention to work there in the future. To her parents’ and the world’s surprise, she received a letter from none other than the CEO of Google himself. Neither Chloe nor her dad actually ever expected a response when her letter was sent. Here is how this heart-warming tale came to be.

How Chloe Got Interested in Google

Chloe’s dad, Andy Bridgewater, explained to her that if he wasn’t a refrigerator components salesman, he would love to work at Google. After showing her just a few pictures of Google’s Headquarters in Silicon Valley, the little one was convinced that this was the company for her. Between the bean bags, go-karts and slides, she was determined to work for Google. Her dad encouraged her to send in an application letter. Chloe didn’t need too much coaxing!

This veritable cover letter was only the second letter which Chloe had ever written, her first being a letter to Father Christmas. A more truthful letter you will struggle to find. Chloe goes into detail covering her strengths, family life and even explains how she doesn’t know what an application to work at Google is but feels her letter is a good start. Her honesty, unintentional humor and clear sincerity lead the CEO of Google himself to reply!

On 2nd March 2017, she received a brand new Raspberry Pi as a gift to fuel her passion for computers. They encourage her to join a local “Code Club” as soon as she is older.
