Over time, it starts to feel as if we actually “know” our favorite celebrities. After following their journeys on the silver screen and watching them take on role after role and character after character, we start to feel as if we get what they’re all about. We maybe even feel as if we understand them as individuals, not just as celebrities. However, the fact is that there are many things we don’t know about our idols. Before making it big, many took roles and jobs that they might not have accepted, had they known that they would one day be blasted under the microscope of super stardom. So, let’s take a look at a few celebrities who were also once in adult feature films, and see if you find any of your favorites on the list.
Before seeing Jackie Chan in entertaining movies like Rush Hour and Shanghai Noon, as well as a slew of other family-friendly, comedy and action titles, it seems that Chan made a different type of movie altogether to make the ends meet. It became public knowledge back in 2006 that Jackie Chan was in an adult comedy that was made in Hong Kong, called All in the Family. The announcement of what most would see as embarrassing news didn’t really seem to affect Chan, as he shrugged it off as something he did as a young actor over 30 years ago.
From 1989 to 1993, Jaimee Foxworth played the heartwarming little Judy Winslow, the youngest in the family on Family Matters, the show that spiraled Jaleel White as Urkel to stardom in what seemed like overnight, attracting viewers that were both young and old alike, quickly becoming a household name. In 2000, Foxworth reportedly asked for a raise to stay on the show, which was denied, and she last appeared in season three. However, Foxworth wanted to make an attempt to stay in the movie business, but rather than family sitcoms, Foxworth opted for adult films. Her character’s name was “Crave”.
Sylvester Stallone has got to be one of the most well-known actors across the globe, reaching mega status with the series of Rocky films, as well as other action-adventure titles like Rambo and Bullet to the Head. Stallone, however, was in a soft core film called The Party at Kitty and Stud’s, for which he was paid a whopping $200 early on in his acting career. Stallone said that he was a part of the film to ensure that he didn’t have to sleep at the bus station. To later reap more publicity, the name of the film was eventually changed to The Italian Stallion, and it has been reported that additional scenes were inserted after the initial filming.
Tom Sizemore, famous for emotional, ground-breaking films like Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down, has had a bit of personal experience being in the spotlight. His private life has consisted of a string of drug addictions, legal problems and splashes across gossip headlines. However, in 2004, Sizemore attempted to find a way to dig himself out of this financial hole by setting up a camera and filming himself with various different women in salacious acts. While he didn’t really make a name for himself in the industry, he was reportedly able to pay off a few of his legal bills.
Joanie Laurer, who sadly passed away on April 20, 2016, was known the world over as Chyna, a popular athlete and character of World Wrestling Entertainment. Laurer was wildly popular in the late ‘90s especially, which even landed her on the cover of Playboy not once, but twice. She was also in several mainstream feature films such as On the Line and Hunter: Back in Force. After her exit from the WWE, Laurer‘s former boyfriend, Sean Waltman sold a private sex tape, which was released as One Night in China. After this introduction to the adult world, Laurer inevitably starred in a full-length adult film entitled Backdoor to China.
Adam West will forever be known as the ever-popular star of Batman, a TV series that was probably watched in every home from 1966 to 1968. However, after this phenomenal role came to an end, it seemed that West just really didn’t know what to do with himself professionally, so he opted for an exciting jaunt of roles in the Cinemax Friday After Dark series. Admittedly, his characters were always rather tasteful, and they didn’t really evoke the emotion of shock that many other racier roles could have produced. However, as that Adam West has always been known as a sort of “wholesome” character, these risqué roles were definitely worth mentioning.
Cameron Diaz, with her spunky girl-next door looks and her sparkling white smile, has been one of the sweethearts of the film industry for several years now. She starred in engaging films like The Mask, There’s Something About Mary, My Best Friend’s Wedding and In Her Shoes. However, there is said to be a tape floating around with a young Cameron Diaz performing in a soft core role. Unlike some others in the film industry, Diaz is not exactly happy about this revelation. In fact, it has been reported that she has taken several steps to try to suppress this tape.
Before Matt LeBlanc was on the NBC sitcom Friends as the much beloved Joey Tribbiani, he wasn’t exactly living the high life out there in Hollywood. In fact, it seems that this role launched his professional acting career at just about the right time. During this time period, he basically accepted any role that came his way with somewhat decent pay, always hoping that eventually one of them would kick start his career, with plenty of more serious, mainstream roles finally coming down the pipeline. LeBlanc accepted the role of a bike messenger in a series of films called The Red Show Diaries.
Sibel Kekilli, who starred in the HBO series Game of Thrones, was not always the servant in love with Tyrion Lannister. Before she was scooped up for this massive historical success, which seems to be on the tip of everyone’s tongues these days, showing up on t-shirts, on purses, on billboards and even as a slot machine on casino gaming floors, she played a little bit of a different role. Early on in her acting career, Kekilli actually starred in several adult feature films. So, it is no wonder that she knew just the right way to deal with the scandalous Lannister clan.
Helen Mirren is one classy lady. Really… she has the ultimate in poise, confidence and all the right things that are needed to launch a successful career in Hollywood these days. She has starred in Woman In Gold, Eye In The Sky, Red and Red 2, just to name a few of her successes. Mirren is so dignified that she has even played the Queen of England! However, while her role was considered tasteful, Mirren also starred in Caligula in 1979. Now, this movie is not exactly considered to be an adult film, but it does contain plenty of explicit scenes and some pornographic content.
When you think of a star that typically has successful roles in all of the best action-packed dramas, Schwarzenegger usually ends up somewhere at the top of the list. Arnold Schwarzenegger, much like Sylvester Stallone, is a man of real action, starring is a slew of successful films like Predator, Terminator, Total Recall and Conan the Barbarian. Schwarzenegger also starred in many family-friendly movies, like Kindergarten Cop and Twins. Now, Schwarzenegger didn’t star in any adult films, much to the chagrin of many, but he did pose nude in several magazines while he was trying to really build up his fanbase.
Barbara Streisand is beloved the entire world over, known for her many silver screen roles and even her jaunts on the big stage. She has starred in Funny Girl, A Star Is Born, The Prince of Tides, Yentl and Little Fockers, just to name a few from her long list of box office hits. However, like everyone else in the industry, Streisand was once a starving, young artist, hoping to one day land that big beak that would hoist her into the limelight. Back in the 1950s, Streisand was involved in filming a few bedroom acts just to pay the bills.
Duchovny’s career began in the late 80s when he was contracted for a beer commercial. Since then, he has starred in some of television’s most popular series, including Californication, The X-Files and the NBC drama about Charles Manson, Aquarius. However, before he became a well-known name and appeared in talk shows and television panels and played roles like a detective and a special agent, David Duchovny was also one of the many who had a role on the soft core series The Red Shoe Diaries.
